Men's Basketball falls to Rhodes in tournament championship game

The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 89-68 to Rhodes in the championship game of the Rhodes College Christmas Invitational on Saturday.
Kalamazoo scored the first point of the game, but Rhodes hit a three-pointer to take the lead and held it the rest of the game. Kalamazoo trailed 42-25 at halftime.
Rhodes shot 57.1 percent overall while hitting 12-of-28 three-pointers. Kalamazoo shot 50 percent while making 5-of-9 three's. Rhodes also held a 35-26 advantage in rebounds.
Mark Ghafari led the Hornets with 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting with six free throws. He also led the team with nine rebounds and five assists.
Kalamazoo is off until Jan. 3 when the Hornets open Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play at Trine.
