Alan Mencer named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

Alan Mencer, a sophomore from Novi (Novi HS), was selected as the MIAA Football Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Mencer made seven tackles, including 3-1/2 tackles for loss and two quarterback sacks, in the Hornets' 31-24 victory over Lakeland, Wis. last Saturday. Five of Mencer's tackles were solo stops.

Mencer is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
